One of my favourite story telling dolls that we ma One of my favourite story telling dolls that we make inside the Sewing Circle - Forest Folk Mama 🍄🍂✨ Can you just imagine her foraging the forest for mushrooms & other delights for her family? I love to think of all the adventures she has with her two little ones trudging through the forest floor, tucking this & that into her apron pocket. I often get asked how these dolls can be used. Firstly they are perfect for storytelling with young children which is a bit of Waldorf playgroup & preschool thing. I also love story dolls for the seasonal table - a visual representation of the season that we are travelling through. And of course for the preschool child these dolls can be lots of fun to create their own play scenes and stories along with animals & other small world play items. But of course this often needs to be role modelled first, especially if children haven’t seen a told/ prop story. And finally I see any form of doll making as therapy. Dolls speak deeply to our inner most self and provide a comfort in challenging time (or just everyday life!) Always looking for ways to bring a little patchwork fabric to my felting projects. I created a fabric insert to line the hen…which then created a lovely little fabric edging on the outside. I also had fun with some embroidery and my favourite @cottagegardenthreads. If you’re looking for a simple and sweet Easter craft this might be it!? ..and yes you may have seen it by another creator recently 😳 It’s never nice when others take your creative work without reference. Introducing our latest project in the sewing circle … arriving early next week ✨ 🌼🌸🌻 Flowery Measuring Tapes 🌸🌼🌻 I had so much fun creating these little flowery designs. They were like pure soul quenching magic - I couldn’t get enough of the peace & joy they brought me. (Hint - I might have started a little theme that may be continued next month…keep an eye out in my stories tomorrow) ✨ I’ve always loved to add a little magic to the things I use everyday. So I felt it was time to give our measuring tapes a little love…surely this is what every sewing basket is missing!?
