What is a Molly doll?
A Molly doll is based on the traditional Steiner/ Waldorf doll and made from natural materials - cotton & wool.
They have simple facial features so that the doll can be whatever the child needs in that moment - asleep, happy, sad or excited.
A Molly doll nourishes our childrens' delicate senses... it feels warm when held & hugged, it takes on the familiar smells of home and it resembles the archetypal image of a child.
Through doll play children learn about love, nurture and friendship.
Dolls provide a safe space for our children to "play out their day", to express their emotions and a companion for their adventures.
The magical days of Early childhood.
The days we will look back on with fondness and wish we could go back and listen to their little voice and kiss those squishy cheeks. (( despite our sleep deprivation and desperation for some alone time! ))

There is something deeply comforting with a doll made by a loved one. A doll made with your love & comfort & joy in mind. A handmade doll like this, becomes a play friend that speaks directly to your child's soul.
Each doll I have made my children has taken on their own personality and really become part of the family.
there are so many reasons why you don't have time to make a doll...
however our children are little for such a short time... those long days we know don't last forever.
