Waldorf Inspired Seasonal Craft – Spring Butterfly Wands

divider-new-1

Ok lovely mamas… here is a little spring crafting to start the season.

Seasonal crafts are a beautiful way to celebrating the season and to bring the season into our home. This little butterfly wand would be beautiful on your seasonal nature table or used as a little prop when storytelling.

They would also make a beautiful parent craft activity for a parent/ child playgroup or at a crafting circle or even a gorgeous addition to the birthday table! (You can read more about creating meaningful birthday rituals + rhythms here)

I’m imagining a beautiful big vase of them with lots of cherry blossom stems flying in the breeze at a spring fair or spring festival to be handed out to the children… so much magic!!!

Materials you will need:

Wool felt scraps

Embroidery thread/ floss

A foraged stick from mother nature

some ribbons of your choice… I love to use silk ribbons

optional – cotton thread or waxed cotton to make the antennas – the thin kind you use for a sewing machine.

+ Sewing basics – needle, pins + scissors

Instructions…

I’ve created a video tutorial below to walk you through the steps to making one of these sweet little butterfly wands.
